  1. Try one normal restart

    • Touch POWER, select a normal cycle, and use the documented START/PAUSE control once.
    • If the dryer does not start, disconnect power as Amana directs instead of trying repeated button combinations.

  2. Record whether the code returns

    • Photograph the code and note whether it appears immediately at startup or after the cycle begins.
    • Leave the dryer disconnected if it repeatedly shows the code, behaves unpredictably, or has any electrical odor or heat damage.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not open the console, disconnect internal harnesses, or probe live control-board wiring.
  • Do not replace a control board from F1 E3 or F1 E5 alone.
  • Do not repeatedly reconnect a dryer that trips breakers, smells burned, or behaves unpredictably.
