What the appliance detected
Detected condition
The range control detected a power-supply condition it could not accept; Amana warns that persistent F9/F9 E0 can indicate a miswired outlet or electrical connection.
What may contribute
Possible causes
- A recent power outage or power-up disturbance may have produced an incorrect-voltage detection.
- The home outlet or appliance electrical connection may be miswired and require a qualified electrician.
Start conservatively
Safe preliminary checks
Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.
Record the code, model, and timing
- Photograph F9 or F9 E0 and note whether it followed a new installation, electrical work, or power outage.
- Do not remove the terminal-block cover, receptacle, cord connection, or appliance panels.
Use one reset only after a recent outage if there are no danger signs
- If the code appeared after a power outage and there is no smoke, sparking, burning smell, visible damage, abnormal heat, or repeated breaker trip, turn the supplying breaker off for one minute and restore power.
- Monitor the range for one minute. Do not keep cycling power if F9/F9 E0 returns.
Use a qualified electrician for a persistent or installation-related code
- If the range was installed recently or F9/F9 E0 persists, disconnect power and have a qualified electrician verify the electrical supply as Amana directs.
- Do not attempt terminal-block, outlet, branch-circuit, or supply-voltage diagnosis from this guide.
Actions not recommended
- Do not open the terminal block, receptacle, junction box, cord connection, or appliance panels.
- Do not measure supply voltage or alter branch-circuit, cord, plug, neutral, ground, or hardwire connections unless you are qualified to perform that work.
- Do not repeatedly reset and use the range if F9/F9 E0 returns.
When to stop and request service
- F9/F9 E0 returns after one outage-related reset or appears on a recently installed range.
- A qualified electrician verifies the supply is correct but the range still reports the code.
- Stop using the appliance and seek qualified help for smoke, sparking, a burning smell, uncontrolled heating, repeated breaker trips, visible electrical damage, or abnormal heat. If you smell gas, leave the area and follow local gas-emergency guidance rather than operating switches.
