Bosch Range F1 / F6 Error Code

Bosch says F1 or F6 means the cooking zone overheated and shut down protectively. Let the electronics cool before normal use resumes.

Start conservatively

Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Stop and let the range cool

    • Remove cookware only when safe and stop using the affected zone.
    • Allow the electronics and surface to cool naturally.

  2. Clear external heat traps

    • Keep the control area and ventilation openings unobstructed according to the manual.
    • Do not pour water on hot glass or force cooling with ice or wet towels.

  3. Resume only after the message clears

    • Bosch says the zone can be switched back on after the electronics cool sufficiently.
    • If F1 or F6 returns during normal use, stop and arrange service.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not remove the cooktop or access fans, sensors, wiring, or induction modules.
  • Do not force-cool hot glass with water, ice, or cold wet materials.
  • Do not keep restarting a zone that repeatedly shuts down from overheating.

  • F1 or F6 repeats during normal cooking after adequate cooling.
  • The surface or controls become abnormally hot, damaged, or emit burning odor.
