Bosch Range F5 Error Code

Bosch says F5 can be caused by hot cookware near the control panel. Move the cookware away, let the electronics cool if needed, and resume only when the message clears.

Possible causes

  • A hot pan may be sitting on or too close to the control area.
  • Large cookware may radiate excessive heat toward the controls.
  • If F5 appears without nearby hot cookware, service diagnosis may be needed.

Start conservatively

Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Move cookware away from the controls

    • Using normal hot-cookware precautions, move the pan away from the control panel.
    • Keep hands away from hot glass and cookware.

  2. Let the control area cool

    • Wait as needed for the message and heat condition to clear.
    • Do not cool the glass or control area with water, ice, or a wet towel.

  3. Return to normal use only after clearing

    • Bosch says normal use can continue after the message disappears and electronics cool sufficiently.
    • If F5 returns without cookware crowding the controls, stop and arrange service.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not leave hot cookware resting over the control panel.
  • Do not force-cool the glass or electronics with liquid or ice.
  • Do not remove the cooktop or test internal temperature sensors or electronics.

When to stop and request service

  • F5 appears repeatedly even when cookware is positioned normally away from controls.
  • The control area remains unusually hot or becomes damaged or discolored.
  • The message does not clear after the surface cools.
