First identify the full model number and series. DELLA’s official table gives E4 different meanings: a cooling-system abnormality on Econo/IF, Vario/TL, Optima/TP and its listed multi-zone group, but an indoor-unit motor error on Motto/JA and Umbra/JPB systems.

  • Do not assume generic internet definitions such as a temperature-sensor fault apply to this DELLA model.
  • Do not open either unit, probe energized wiring, test the fan motor or control board, or bypass a protection.
