Electrolux Washer E41 Error Code

Electrolux directs owners to confirm the door is fully closed, remove anything blocking closure, and verify normal latch engagement. E41 does not by itself prove the door switch or lock assembly has failed.

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record E41 and stop the washer

    • Photograph E41 and note the complete model number.
    • Wait for the drum to stop completely before inspecting the door opening.

  2. Clear visible obstructions

    • Remove clothing or debris caught between the door and opening.
    • Do not force the door against an obstruction.

  3. Close the door normally

    • Close the door firmly without slamming it and listen for normal latch engagement.
    • Inspect only the visible latch and striker for obvious damage; do not remove the lock assembly.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not bypass the door lock or switch.
  • Do not remove the front panel, door-lock assembly, or internal wiring.
  • Do not slam or force a door that will not close normally.

When to stop and request service

  • E41 remains after the door is fully closed and visible obstructions are removed.
  • The latch or striker is visibly damaged or the door will not stay closed.
  • Internal door-switch, lock, wiring, or control diagnosis would be required.
