    • Check the door opening for clothing or debris that prevents a complete seal and closure.
    • Do not pull on a locked door or use tools to force it open.

  3. Check normal latch engagement

    • Close the door normally and listen for the expected latch click.
    • Inspect only the visible latch and striker for obvious damage; leave the lock mechanism and wiring closed.
