Frigidaire Range F10 Error Code

Treat F10 as a high-temperature safety alert, not as a parts diagnosis. Turn the oven off, let it cool, and do not continue cooking if the condition persists or returns.

Frigidaire says F10 indicates the oven is detecting higher-than-normal temperatures; current range documentation calls the condition Thermal Runaway.

What may contribute

Possible causes

  • The oven has detected a temperature higher than the normal range.
  • On supported Stone-Baked Pizza models, Frigidaire says an incorrectly positioned Pizza Shield or rack can contribute to F10; this does not apply to every model.

Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Turn the oven off and record F10

    • Cancel cooking, photograph or write down F10, and keep people away if heat appears uncontrolled.
    • Do not open service panels or touch hot elements, vents, trim, or internal surfaces while the appliance cools.

  2. Let the oven cool completely

    • Frigidaire says standard range and wall-oven users should turn the oven off and allow it to cool before using it again.
    • If smoke, sparking, burning odor, or uncontrolled heating continues, move to safety and contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional instead of continuing troubleshooting.

  3. Check model-specific pizza guidance only when it applies

    • If the exact model has Frigidaire Stone-Baked Pizza mode, compare the rack and Pizza Shield position with the model manual before trying that feature again.
    • Do not apply pizza-mode instructions to a model that does not document them. If F10 persists or returns, stop use and request service.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not continue cooking to see whether the oven will stabilize on its own.
  • Do not remove panels, access the temperature probe, or perform resistance, continuity, or live-voltage tests.
  • Do not replace a probe, relay, control, element, or wiring component solely because F10 appeared.

When to stop and request service

  • Request qualified service if F10 persists, returns, or the oven temperature appears uncontrolled.
  • Do not resume oven use after smoke, sparking, burning odor, repeated breaker trips, or abnormal heating until the appliance has been professionally evaluated.
  • For a newly installed unit that cannot be resolved with Frigidaire’s documented guidance, contact the installer.
