Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Confirm that the display really shows F40 or F41

    • Photograph the display and verify that it is F40 or F41, not the normal dash symbol or another lock indicator.
    • Check the exact owner manual for the model’s normal Control Lock behavior before assuming a fault.

  2. Stop cooking and keep checks external

    • Cancel active cooking and let hot surfaces cool.
    • Do not remove the cooktop, control panel, knobs, trim, or service covers and do not bypass a lock function.

  3. Use Frigidaire’s documented reset once

    • If there is no immediate hazard, disconnect power for up to 30 seconds and restore it, as Frigidaire documents.
    • If F40 or F41 remains or returns, stop resetting and arrange installer support or qualified service.
