Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the code and stop active leaking

    • Photograph F8 E4 or count the 8-pause-4 flashing pattern before clearing anything.
    • If water is actively escaping outside the appliance, shut off the dishwasher water supply when it can be reached safely and protect the floor.

  2. Inspect only visible, owner-accessible conditions

    • Check visible supply and drain connections for dripping, loose fittings, kinks, or evidence of oversudsing without removing panels.
    • Use only automatic-dishwasher detergent. If suds are present, stop operation and allow them to dissipate rather than adding chemicals or more detergent.
