Maytag Washer F0 E4 Error Code

Maytag says F0 E4 means the washer senses that the water temperature is too hot and directs owners to verify that the hot and cold inlet hoses are connected to the correct supplies. This is an installation/supply check first, not proof of a failed valve or control.

  1. Record the code and model

    • Photograph F0 E4 before clearing it and note the full model number.
    • Use the installation instructions for that exact washer to identify the hot and cold inlet connections.

  2. Verify visible hose routing

    • With the washer stopped, compare the visible hot and cold hoses with the labeled washer inlets and household supplies.
    • If a hose change is needed, shut off the water supplies and disconnect power first, then follow the model installation instructions.

  3. Use one documented reset

    • After correcting a confirmed hose-routing problem, restore water and power and test the washer normally.
    • Maytag documents disconnecting power for five minutes as a control reset for this condition; do it once rather than repeatedly cycling power.
