What the appliance detected
Detected condition
The dishwasher detected that there is not enough water in the tub.
What may contribute
Possible causes
- The dishwasher detected a water level below what it expected for the cycle.
- A fill, level-detection, installation, or control condition may require service if the documented Normal-cycle check does not resolve it.
Start conservatively
Safe preliminary checks
Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.
Record 9E and check for obvious water hazards
- Photograph the code and confirm the model.
- Stop for active leaking, frozen or visibly damaged supply lines, or water near electrical components.
Run the Samsung-documented Normal-cycle check once
- Empty the dishwasher.
- Add the normal amount of automatic-dishwasher detergent and run one Normal cycle if there are no leak or electrical hazards.
Escalate if 9E remains
- If 9E still occurs, switch off dishwasher power at the circuit breaker as Samsung directs.
- Request Samsung service instead of repeatedly running cycles.
Actions not recommended
- Do not remove panels or access water-level sensors, pumps, valves, or internal wiring.
- Do not repeatedly run cycles when the dishwasher is not filling to a normal level.
- Do not replace an inlet valve or sensor from 9E alone.
When to stop and request service
- 9E returns after the documented empty Normal-cycle check.
- Water supply appears abnormal, a line is damaged, or the dishwasher leaks.
- Diagnosis would require fill-valve, level-sensor, wiring, pump, or control access.
