What you need before searching

Have the appliance’s model number ready. Copy every letter, number, slash and suffix from the rating label. Small model revisions can use different instructions or parts information.

Documents you may find

• Owner’s manual or use-and-care guide
• Installation instructions
• Quick-start or control guide
• Energy guide, specifications or dimension sheet
• Other official literature published for that model

Where the model tag is commonly found

• Refrigerator: inside the fresh-food compartment, often on a side wall or ceiling area.
• Dishwasher: along the door edge or tub frame when the door is open.
• Washer: around the door opening on front-load models or beneath/behind the lid area on many top-load models.
• Dryer: around the door opening or cabinet frame.
• Range/oven: around the oven frame, drawer area or side trim.

Exact locations vary by model. Use the manufacturer’s support page when the tag is not obvious.

Why the exact model matters

Manual pages often group visually similar appliances, but wiring, controls, installation clearances, filter procedures and feature sets can change between revisions. Match the full model identifier before following a procedure.

If the manual does not appear

1. Recheck characters that are easy to confuse, such as 0/O, 1/I and 5/S.
2. Try the model without spaces while keeping meaningful dashes or suffixes.
3. Use the manufacturer support page or product registration account.
4. For discontinued appliances, ask the manufacturer whether archived literature is available.
