Remove anything blocking closure
- Check for clothing extending beyond the door opening and reduce an overpacked load if needed.
- Remove visible packing material or debris from the latch area.
Close the door and try one reset
- Open and firmly close the door without slamming it.
- If safe, disconnect power for five minutes, reconnect, and try one normal cycle.
Actions not recommended
- Do not force the lock or manually defeat the latch.
- Do not bypass the door interlock to make the washer run.
- Do not remove panels or probe lock wiring while energized.
When to stop and request service
