Bosch Microwave E11 / Er11 Error Code

Bosch recommends first drying the external control panel with a dry cloth, then disconnecting power at the fuse or breaker for 10 seconds and restoring it once. If E11 or Er11 returns, the next step is Bosch support or qualified service rather than opening the control panel.

  1. Record the display and Bosch model

    • Photograph E11 or Er11 before clearing power and note the complete Bosch model or E-Nr.
    • Confirm the model documentation uses this code for the same touch-key condition before relying on the guide.

  2. Dry the external control panel

    • Bosch says condensation can affect the keypad. Wipe the exterior control surface with a clean, dry cloth.
    • Do not spray cleaner into seams, use forced heat, or remove the control panel.

  3. Try the Bosch 10-second power reset once

    • If there is no smoke, burning odor, arcing, visible damage, wet electrical condition, or repeated breaker trip, switch power off at the fuse or breaker for 10 seconds as Bosch documents.
    • Restore power once. If E11 or Er11 returns, stop repeating resets and request service.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not remove the outer cabinet, control panel, waveguide cover, trim that exposes service areas, or any internal access panel.
  • Do not touch, discharge, or test the high-voltage capacitor, transformer, inverter, magnetron, internal fuse, relay, sensor, wiring, or control board. Dangerous voltage can remain after the microwave is disconnected.
  • Do not bypass, bridge, tape, adjust, or defeat door-interlock switches or operate the microwave with a damaged or misaligned door.
  • Do not perform live-voltage, continuity, resistance, or capacitor-discharge procedures as a homeowner troubleshooting step.
  • Do not keep resetting a microwave that repeatedly returns the same fault code.

When to stop and request service

  • E11 or Er11 returns after the control surface is dry and the single Bosch-documented reset is completed.
  • The touch controls remain unresponsive, behave erratically, or activate without normal input.
  • There is smoke, burning odor, arcing, visible damage, a wet-electrical condition, or repeated breaker tripping.
