GE Range Bad Line Error Code

  • An incorrect electrical connection or miswire to the range or wall oven, as described by GE.

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the message and model

    • Photograph or write down Bad Line and confirm the exact model number.
    • Locate the installation manual for the appliance without removing panels or moving it away from the wall.

  2. Stop use and arrange qualified help

    • Do not use the oven or surface units while an incorrect connection is suspected.
    • Contact the installer or a qualified electrician to evaluate and correct the installation.

  3. Turn off power only from a safe location

    • If the electrical panel is safely accessible and there is no fire or wet-electrical hazard, switch off the breaker or fuse supplying the appliance and leave it off.
    • Do not use a breaker reset to dismiss a documented miswiring condition.
