Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the code and model

    • Photograph or write down whether the display shows F3 or F4 before disconnecting power.
    • Confirm the full model number and locate its owner manual.

  2. Stop oven use and observe for hazards

    • Cancel oven operation and allow it to cool without touching the sensor, elements, vents, or internal surfaces.
    • Do not interpret a silenced alarm as confirmation that the sensor condition has been corrected.

  3. Follow GE breaker guidance once

    • If there is no immediate hazard, GE says turning off the supplying breaker or fuse for one or two minutes may sometimes clear a code.
    • If the display clears, that does not prove a repair. Leave the appliance off at the breaker until a trained technician evaluates it.

  • Do not remove panels, access the oven sensor, perform resistance or continuity measurements, or replace the sensor based on the code alone.
