  1. Stop cooking and record the display

    • Cancel oven operation, photograph or write down F2 or F20, and do not continue cooking.
    • Keep people away from the appliance if heat appears uncontrolled or abnormal.

  2. Let the appliance cool without opening it

    • Do not reach near heating elements, vents, or hot interior surfaces.
    • If smoke, sparking, a burning smell, or uncontrolled heating is present, move to safety and contact the appropriate emergency service or qualified professional.

  3. Use the breaker only when it is safe to do so

    • If the electrical panel is safely accessible and there is no fire or wet-electrical hazard, turn off the circuit breaker or fuse supplying the appliance.
    • GE says a one- or two-minute interruption may sometimes clear a fault, but a cleared display is not proof of repair. Leave the appliance off until serviced.
