LG Range F10 / F20 Error Code

F10/F20 indicate that the oven lock system did not behave as expected. Do not force or bypass the door; let the oven cool, use normal controls, and perform only the documented reset before requesting service.

  • The door-lock system did not reach the state expected by the control.
  • A temporary electronic or lock-state condition after a cooking or cleaning cycle.
  • A latch, lock motor, switch, wiring, or control issue that requires internal diagnosis if the code returns.

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Let the oven cool before touching the door

    • Press CLEAR/OFF and allow the oven to cool naturally, especially after Self Clean or another high-temperature cycle.
    • Do not pull, pry, slam, or force a locked door.

  2. Check only normal door position

    • Once cool, remove only obvious external obstructions that prevent normal closure without reaching into the latch mechanism.
    • Confirm whether F10 refers to the upper oven or F20 to the lower oven on your model.

  3. Use the supported reset once

    • Retry the normal function after cooling. If the code remains, turn the range circuit breaker off for 30 seconds and restore power once.
    • If F10 or F20 returns or the door remains locked, stop and request appliance service.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not force the oven door or insert tools into the latch opening.
  • Do not bypass the lock switch, remove lock components, or energize a lock motor directly.
  • Do not remove panels or test internal lock wiring or voltage.

When to stop and request service

  • Request appliance service if F10/F20 returns after cooling and one documented reset.
  • Request service if the door remains locked after the oven has fully cooled and normal model-specific unlock steps do not work.
  • Stop immediately for smoke, sparking, burning odor, or visible heat damage around the door or controls.
