7E/7C is unusually owner-checkable: Samsung says to remove visible obstructions, confirm recent-install packing tape is gone, and verify the removable reflector is seated in the documented orientation before one two-minute power cycle.

Possible causes

  • Damage or an internal WaterWall drive condition may require service if the code remains after the documented checks.

Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Check for visible obstructions

    • Turn the dishwasher off and remove the lower rack if the exact model instructions support it.
    • Remove only visible items blocking the reflector, such as a utensil or pot handle. On a recent installation, confirm the WaterWall guide-rail packing tape was removed.

  2. Confirm the reflector orientation

    • Samsung says the WaterWall logo should face forward and upward when the reflector is correctly positioned.
    • If the removable reflector is clearly misinstalled, follow Samsung’s WaterWall article to lift, turn, and reseat that user-removable reflector only. Do not disassemble the rail, shuttle, or drive.

  3. Power cycle once after the physical check

    • If the reflector is correctly installed and unobstructed, Samsung directs a two-minute power cycle at the circuit breaker to clear the code.
    • If 7E or 7C returns, or if any part is damaged, request service.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not force the reflector through resistance or pry the guide rail.
  • Do not disassemble the WaterWall drive, motor, shuttle, wiring, or base.
  • Do not keep power-cycling a damaged or mechanically jammed assembly.

  • 7E or 7C returns with the reflector unobstructed, correctly seated, and power-cycled once.
