Samsung washer CL Status Message

Samsung says CL can flash while Child Lock is active. It is normally a status message rather than a confirmed washer fault, and restarting the washer does not disable Child Lock.

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Confirm the display and model

    • Photograph CL or the Child Lock icon and confirm the full washer model number.
    • Use the exact owner manual to identify the Child Lock buttons; do not copy a button combination from a different Samsung model.

  2. Use only the documented Child Lock controls

    • Samsung commonly uses a labeled two-button press-and-hold combination, but the exact buttons vary.
    • On models with Temporary off, follow the exact sequence because the feature can re-engage automatically.

  3. Let a running cycle finish or stop normally

    • If the front-load door remains locked, confirm whether a cycle is still running and let the washer stop and release the door normally.
    • Do not force the door or bypass the lock to add or remove laundry.

  4. Do not use a power cycle as the unlock method

    • Samsung says restarting the washer does not disable Child Lock.
