Frigidaire Refrigerator DI SP / DISP Error Code

Frigidaire says DI SP or DISP can appear when ice is jammed in the ice chute for too long.

What may contribute

Possible causes

  • Ice cubes may be stuck in the dispenser chute.
  • Ice can melt and refreeze around the auger or bin after infrequent use, temperature changes, or power outages.
  • Cubes may be jammed between the icemaker and the back of the ice bin.

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the display and model

    • Photograph or write down the exact alert, word, or code before clearing it.
    • Confirm the full model number and Frigidaire owner manual because displays and controls vary by refrigerator family.

  2. Use only documented external checks

    • Open the door and look for visible ice in the chute without reaching into moving parts.
    • Remove, empty, thaw, clean, dry, and replace the ice bin if the model manual supports that external bin handling.
    • Clear only visible loose cubes from the dispenser path while the dispenser is not running.

  3. Stop before internal work

    • If the alert remains after documented checks, request service.
    • Do not open sealed-system, compressor, fan, sensor, wiring, dispenser-motor, or control areas.
