Samsung Dryer bE / bE2 / bC2 / 6E / 6E2 / 6C2 Error Code

Samsung groups bE, bE2, bC2, 6E, 6E2, and 6C2 as jammed-button errors. The safe check is limited to normal button movement on the exterior panel.

Applies to Samsung dryer with digital display

What the appliance detected

Detected condition

The dryer detected a control-panel button as stuck or continuously pressed.

What may contribute

Possible causes

  • A control-panel button is stuck or continuously pressed.
  • A button is physically damaged.
  • The code returns even though every exterior button appears to press and release normally.

Start conservatively

Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the exact code and model

    • Photograph or write down the exact display, preserving whether the first character looks like b or 6.
    • Confirm the full model number and owner manual because panel layouts differ.
  2. Turn the dryer off

    • Use the normal control to power the dryer off and wait for all drum movement to stop.
    • Stop for smoke, a burning odor, sparking, unusual heat, liquid on the panel, or visible electrical damage.
  3. Check each exterior button normally

    • Individually touch and release every button on the panel, working around the edges as Samsung directs.
    • Do not pry, force, remove, or apply liquid to a button. Stop if any button is damaged or will not move normally.
  4. Power on once and preserve a returning code

    • Power the dryer on normally after the exterior buttons have been checked.
    • If the code returns, stop and request service instead of repeatedly clearing it.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not pry, lubricate, force, or remove a panel button.
  • Do not open the control panel, bypass a control, or access internal switches, boards, or wiring.
  • Do not repeatedly reset a returning code; Samsung warns that resets erase stored error history that may help a technician.

When to stop and request service

  • Request service if any panel button is damaged, does not release normally, or the code returns after the exterior-button check.
  • Stop if checking the button would require force, liquid, a tool, panel removal, or internal access.
  • Stop immediately for smoke, burning odor, sparking, unusual heat, liquid intrusion, or visible electrical damage.
