Samsung Dryer dC / dE / dF / do / d0 / 1 DC / 1 dF Error Code

Samsung associates this family with a door that will not stay closed, close, or latch. Begin with trapped laundry and visible door closure; the code does not identify which door-system part is at fault.

Applies to Samsung dryer with digital display

What the appliance detected

Detected condition

The dryer detected a problem related to the door, its latch, or the sensors that determine whether the door is secured correctly.

What may contribute

Possible causes

  • Laundry or another item is caught in the door opening.
  • The door is not closed and secured correctly.
  • The latch is visibly loose or damaged.
  • A door-securement sensor concern that requires service.

Start conservatively

Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the exact code and model

    • Photograph or write down the exact display, preserving spaces and the difference between do with the letter o and d0 with zero.
    • Confirm the full model number and owner manual because door arrangements vary.
  2. Wait for all movement to stop

    • Turn the dryer off normally and wait until the drum has completely stopped before opening the door.
    • Never reach into a moving drum or bypass a door switch or other safety device.
  3. Clear the accessible door opening

    • Remove laundry or another visible item caught in the door opening.
    • Visually check that the latch is securely fixed without loosening, adjusting, or forcing it.
  4. Close the door normally

    • Close and secure the door normally without slamming or forcing it.
    • If the door will not stay closed, the latch is damaged, or the code remains, stop using the dryer and request service.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not force the door, adjust or replace the latch, or bypass a door switch or safety device.
  • Do not operate the dryer if the door will not stay securely closed, and never reach into a moving drum.
  • Do not remove panels or repeatedly reset the code; Samsung warns that resetting clears error history useful for service.

When to stop and request service

  • Request service if the code cannot be corrected with normal closure and removal of a visible obstruction.
  • Stop using the dryer if there is damage to the door or latch or the door will not stay secured.
  • Request service whenever an internal sensor, latch, switch, or wiring inspection would be required.
