LG Dryer PF Error Code

LG associates PF with a recent interruption of power and documents one control reset. A recurring code or any damaged electrical connection needs qualified attention rather than repeated resetting.

Detected condition

PF commonly appears after a power outage.

What may contribute

Possible causes

  • A recent power outage or interruption.

Start conservatively

Safe preliminary checks

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the code and recent power context

    • Photograph or write down PF before resetting the dryer.
    • Confirm the exact model and whether a household outage or power interruption just occurred.
  2. Stop for electrical warning signs

    • Stop using the dryer for sparking, a burning odor, scorching, unusual heat at the plug or outlet, visible cord damage, or another electrical warning sign.
    • Do not touch a damaged connection; switch off the circuit from a safe location and contact a licensed electrician.
  3. Perform the documented reset once

    • Unplug the dryer or switch off its dedicated circuit breaker.
    • While power is disconnected, press and hold Start/Pause for five seconds, then restore power and try a supported cycle.
  4. Preserve a recurring code

    • If PF persists or returns without another known outage, stop resetting it and request qualified help.
    • Tell the electrician or appliance technician when the code appeared and whether other household power symptoms occurred.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not open the outlet, electrical panel, dryer service panel, terminal block, or power-cord connection.
  • Do not test live voltage, household wiring, or internal components.
  • Do not repeatedly reset a recurring PF code or treat it as proof that a dryer component has failed.

When to stop and request service

  • Use a licensed electrician when PF accompanies outlet, breaker, cord, household-wiring, or broader power concerns.
  • Request appliance service if PF persists after the one documented reset and the electrical supply is known to be correct.
  • Stop immediately for sparking, burning odor, scorching, unusual heat, visible damage, or another electrical hazard.
