CE identifies a motor electrical-circuit over-current condition. LG lists several electrical possibilities, but the code does not establish which condition occurred or prove that a particular component failed.

Possible causes

Start conservatively

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the code and model number

    • Photograph or write down CE before disconnecting power.
    • Confirm the full model number so any later service or documentation applies to the correct washer.

  2. Perform the documented power reset

    • Unplug the washer for 10 seconds.
    • Plug the washer back in and attempt to run a cycle once.

Actions not recommended

  • Do not inspect or test wiring, motor components, control boards, grounding, or other internal electrical parts.
  • Do not remove panels or attempt to repair an electrical connection based on CE.
  • Do not treat CE as proof that the motor, control system, or another component has failed.

When to stop and request service
