What the washer detected
Detected condition
The washer tub failed to spin.
What may contribute
Possible causes
- A wash load that is too heavy or overloads the washer.
- A coin or another foreign object visibly stuck in the tub.
- A temporary operating error.
Start conservatively
Safe preliminary checks
Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.
Record the code and model number
- Photograph or write down LE before disconnecting power.
- Confirm the full model number before choosing a cycle or following model-specific instructions.
Disconnect power before checking the load
- Power off and unplug the washer, then wait for the drum to stop completely before opening the door or touching the load.
Reduce an overloaded wash load
- Remove some laundry if the washer is overloaded.
- For blankets or another large, heavy load, use only the cycle recommended for that load in the model documentation.
Look for a visible loose object
- With power disconnected and the drum fully stopped, check for a coin or another loose object that is plainly visible and readily removable from the tub.
- Stop if the object is trapped, sharp, below the drum, or not safely reachable without disassembly.
Try the documented power reset
- Leave the washer unplugged for five minutes, then reconnect power and try an appropriate cycle again.
Actions not recommended
- Do not reach into a moving drum or inspect the tub while the washer is powered.
- Do not pry out a trapped object or remove panels, the drum, or internal motor components.
- Do not treat LE as proof that the motor or another component requires replacement.
When to stop and request service
- LE continues after the documented power reset and supported load checks.
- A foreign object is trapped or cannot be removed safely without tools or disassembly.
- The tub does not turn normally after the visible load and object checks.
