Samsung Washer 4C2 / 4E2 / CE / 14C2 / nF1 Error Code

The 4C2 family is a hot/cold supply condition. Samsung directs users to correct reversed supply-hose connections and says this condition does not itself indicate that service is needed.

Water entering through the cold-water supply is extremely hot, commonly because the supply hoses are reversed.

  • The cold-water supply hose is connected to the hot inlet and the hot-water supply hose is connected to the cold inlet.

Work in order and stop whenever a step is not supported by the documentation for your model.

  1. Record the exact code and model number

    • Photograph or write down whether the display shows 4C2, 4E2, CE, 14C2, or nF1.
    • Confirm the full model number and locate the hot and cold inlet labels in the owner or installation manual.

  2. Verify the visible hose connections

    • Trace the hot and cold supply hoses and confirm each one reaches the matching labeled washer inlet.
    • Samsung commonly describes the matching connections as blue to blue and red to red, but the labels and model manual are the deciding references.

  3. Correct reversed hoses safely

    • Turn off both water-supply valves and disconnect power before changing a hose connection.
    • Reconnect cold to the cold inlet and hot to the hot inlet, following the exact model installation instructions.
    • If a hose or valve is damaged, leaking, or difficult to operate, stop rather than forcing it.

  4. Correct the supply condition before resetting

    • Do not use a reset as a substitute for correcting reversed hose connections.
    • Samsung says clearing a code does not automatically correct the underlying condition and repeated resets can erase diagnostic history that may be useful to a technician.

  • Do not disconnect a hose while its water-supply valve is open.
  • Do not remove panels or inspect internal inlet valves, temperature sensors, wiring, or controls.
  • Do not treat the code as proof that an internal component has failed.

  • A hose, valve, or connection is damaged or leaking.
