GE says a blinking Spin light or bALAnCINg message means the washer is taking action to correct an out-of-balance condition. If the load is wetter than normal afterward, redistribute it and run a supported spin cycle.

  1. Record the message and model

    • Note whether the display shows bALAnCINg or the Spin light is blinking.
    • Confirm the exact model manual because controls and messages vary.

  2. Let the washer complete its correction attempt

    • GE says the washer may take action to correct the out-of-balance condition and complete the cycle normally.
    • Do not reach into the washer while the basket is moving or the lid is locked.

  3. Redistribute the load after motion stops

    • When the basket has stopped and the lid unlocks normally, redistribute laundry evenly in the wash basket.
    • If the load is wetter than normal, run Drain & Spin or Spin as the model supports.

  4. Check level only as the manual allows
